The Disney Cruise Line!

Hi there! And welcome to the last in my Disney Summer Fun Series! Can you believe it!? I can't!!

Today I have an awesome Guest ... Tricia from Return to Disney!!

Tricia  is such an amazing Disney pal! I've known her right from the start of my blogging journey :) She's so bubbly, fun and upbeat! I remember asking her to guest blog for me way back in June when things were a little stressful for her at home ... but she always remained positive and was a tower of strength for her family :) I truly admire her ... she's one strong momma! :)

Tricia also covers the topic of Autism. 2 of her 4 (adorable!) kids have an Autism Spectrum Disorder and she shares her journey with them in everyday life, as well as at Disney Parks! This post in particular was so touching - it shows the true real life magic that Disney can bring!

Tricia as also recently launched her own Travel Agency!

It's called 'Take a Break Vacations' - please be sure to check it out!

Tricia plans customized vacation getaways :) She specializes in Disney and Universal Resorts, as well as all-inclusive resort vacations for busy families and individuals. Her site also features some information on Adventures by Disney in Ireland and Royal Caribbean Cruises!

Congratulations Tricia! I wish you every success in your awesome venture!

So here goes! The last Guest post of my Disney Summer Fun Series! (sob!)
It's Tricia from Return to Disney!

The Disney Cruise Line!

Most people who visit Walt Disney World go for about a week. You can certainly spend more time and still not experience everything there is to see and do there, but that’s the average. A Walt Disney Word vacation is wonderful, but it’s not usually relaxing. Some people actually begin training for their vacation several months in advance, because they know how much walking they’ll do! A relaxing cruise is a great way to recover from your vacation. If you have the time and you’re just not ready to leave the Disney magic behind, you can extend your vacation with a three or four night cruise on the Disney Cruise Line.

The Disney Cruise line sails to the Bahamas out of Port Canaveral, Florida – about 65 miles away from Walt Disney World Resort. You’ll spend your first day traveling from Florida to Nassau, Bahamas where you’ll have most of the second day to explore. If you’re interested in the colonial and pirate history of the Bahamas, visit Fort Charlotte where you can tour the moat, underground tunnels and dungeons. If shopping and sightseeing is more your speed, check out Bay Street and Straw Market where you can find handmade souvenirs and artisan foods.

After Nassau, you’ll sail to Castaway Cay, Disney’s private island about 200 miles off the coast of Florida. There’s plenty to keep you busy on Castaway Cay for a full day before you return to Port Canaveral, from feeding stingrays to a relaxing massage in an open-air cabana. There are separate adult and kid beaches, as well as a family oriented area. Yours won’t be the only ship docked at Castaway Cay – the Flying Dutchman from Pirates of the Caribbean lurks around the island.

Four night cruise itineraries give you an extra day at sea before returning home, giving you time to explore all the activities and amenities available on board the Disney Dream or Disney Magic, which will launch in 2012. Don’t miss the AquaDuck – 765 foot water coaster that drops you four decks into a lazy river!

And as if all that wasn’t tempting enough, you’ll also get a $25 onboard credit – but you might have trouble using it since just about everything you could possibly want is included in the price of your cruise.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Isn't that a brilliant idea!? I know from experience that whilst a Disneyland Paris trip can be the most wonderful holiday in the world! ... I can come home feeling very tired and worn out! :P A Disney cruise at the end of my Dlp trip would be just perfect ... if only they left from France! lol!
Once again, thank you SO much Tricia for being my Guest!
Please be sure to check out her wonderful Disney blog Return to Disney! And also her brand new travel agency website 'Take a Break Vacations'!
I'll be doing a round up tomorrow to mark the end of this series ... in the mean time, you can check out everyone who took part over at my Disney Summer Fun Series page! :)
Hope everyone has an awesome Tuesday! :)
Something About Me Saturday Blog Hop!
I LOVE this hop! It's so cool to find out more about all my awesome Disney Blogger pals!
I was busy baking today :) Here's what I made! :)
My mum loves these sweets so I topped some vanilla cupcakes with them for her :)
I also made some starry cupcakes and come chocolate cookies :)
These were loads of fun! :) Cupcakes with cookie dough in the middle! :) I made some cookie dough, rolled it into small balls and froze them for a couple of hours. Then added them to cupcake cases with cake mix in them and popped them in the oven :) When the cake mix cooks it rises up and over the cookie dough ball :)
Once done I topped them with chocolate fudge frosting!
Om nom nom! These were so good! :D
Please check out the other blogs in the Something About Me Saturday Blog Hop over at the Disney Bird Blog for more awesome SAMS posts! :D
Tips for Disney Summer Rain!
Today the awesome Debs from Focused on the Magic is sharing some brilliant tips for coping with Summer Rain at WDW for my Disney Summer Fun Series! But first, I'd like to touch on this weeks theme over at the Babes in Disneyland Blog Hop - 'Inspiration'!
For my first ever post on the Magical Blogorail Black line, I introduced myself, my blog, and I wrote about what inspired me to start a Disney blog! Check it out here!
What inspires me to Disney blog the most is that I get to share my Disney experiences with others! But of course ... this goes both ways! I love that I get to read about the awesome Disney experiences of fellow Disney bloggers!
Fellow Disney bloggers also inspire me in my Disney blogging every day! Such as Debs from Focused on the Magic! Something I look forward to the most in the Disney blogosphere every week is her 'Disney Wordless Wednesday Blog Hop'! Debs does a wonderful job of bringing together the Disney blogging community for some Disney photo fun!!
Debs herself is not only an awesome Disney blogger and Disney friend! She is also one of the BEST photographers I know! She inspires me to become a better one myself :) I love reading all her tips and hints for photograpahy in the Disney parks! Debs always blows me away with her snaps of all things Disney! Her blog is such a joy to scroll through! :) A real treat for the eyes so to speak! :P Please be sure to check her out at Focused on the Magic!
Which leads me to the first of this weeks guest posts for my Disney Summer Fun Series! That's right! ... It's Debs from Focused on the Magic! Check out her article below!!
Tips for Disney Summer Rain!
It's summertime in Orlando - hazy, hot and humid.  Today's August Africa hot temperature at 1:00 PM is 90º and it feels like 103º! As if that isn't enough to wilt any diehard park hopper, there's high humidity! Touring the parks during the summer months for some is their only option during the year. Personally, I'd rather go during the summer than not go at all but DH feels quite differently. So, for the past five summers I've spent a week in Walt Disney World with one or both of our boys while DH opts for joining us on our much cooler October or February trips.
During the summer crowd levels in the parks build throughout the day along with the humidity. Combine the crowds, high temps, high humidity and you have a pretty sticky situation for all and a increased probability of rain. Just about everyday in fact. When it rains in Orlando it's pours! A sprinkling summer shower can turn into a monsoon.
Don't let rain dampen your magical summer vacation! With a little planning you can still have a great time and capture the memories as well!
Ziplock bags are your rainy day friend and boys don't wear ponchos! Just saying;) In case they give in I'm prepared with a tote bag full of ponchos , small ziplock bags for phones and small electronics, an umbrella and a small towel.
I actually had someone ask me where they could buy one of those, pointing to my camera bag wrapped in a waste basket bag! I explained I'd brought it from home but that they could ask Mousekeeping for a similar size waste basket bag. Tip: Only use the parks shopping bags for dry items not as a "wet" bag. The dye could transfer and ruin anything inside if it gets wet.
I've learned to adapt our touring plans accordingly. I try to know the closest air conditioned attractions, shops and restaurants to seek shelter in while playing the waiting for the rain or lightening to stop. This doesn't sound like much fun but it really is. It's all in your frame of mind. We rode Toy Story Mania twice in a row last August during one such monsoon. Another time DSs did a rain dance backward in the rain, hoping it would stop. Unfortunately my camera was inaccessible at the time or I would've snapped a few good ones. It was wrapped in waterproof bags and tucked away. Which brings me to one of my favorite things to do in the parks and that is of course taking pictures!!
To get some great pictures in The Animal Kingdom go against the flow!  The flow of guests running for the gates and buses that is. Don your rain poncho, secure your camera bag in a 2 gallon Ziplock bag and a garbage bag wrap and make a mad dash for the safari ride.
Warning! Animal Kingdom is slippery when wet!! Those little hills that you hadn't noticed before become moguls in the rain. Especially when you're pushing a teenage boy in a wheelchair!
Because the queue for the safari is under an awning and the ride is covered you can  take your DSLR out and shoot away! The animals love the rain!
Thank you so much, Amanda, for inviting me to join your Summer Fun Series! I enjoy reading all your delicious recipes and your great posts about Disneyland Paris. You've peaked my interest in one day visiting DLP!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Aren't those tips cool!? I totally didn't even think about rain in the summer! I suppose its a great idea to be ready for anything when visiting Disney parks! :P

Thank you so much Debs for taking the time to be my guest here at Mandas Disney Blog! It's been an honor! :P I hope you make it to Dlp one day!! :D
