Happy 19th Birthday Disneyland Paris!

19 years ago today, Disneyland Paris (then known as 'Euro Disneyland' ... cringe!) opened its gates!

A grand ceremony took place in front of Disneyland Hotel, including Disney Characters, Dancers, a huge Live Band and countless Cast Members, to welcome thousands of guests!

Anyone remember these classic parade floats? I may have only been 5 years old but I sure do!

And I remember this advert! Goosebumptastic!

I also came across this broadcast of the Grand Opening Ceremony on the evening of April 11th 1992!

The live performance from Angela Lansbury in her role as Mrs Potts from Beauty and the Beast is one of my favourite parts! And the cutting of the ribbon followed by the appearance of Mickey from behind the gates of the castle is simply magical!

How exciting! I remember when Euro Disney opened, there was a lot of negativity. It's great to see some good memories of the park :)

We are SO excited that we booked our first-ever trip to DLP this June! (I only hope that there isn't scaffolding up over everything as they prepare for the 20th BD celebration... :D)
